New features

Arrangement View

Videosync now fully supports the use of video clips in Live 11's Arrangement View:

  • Play video clips on audio tracks in the Arrangement View.
  • Mute / disable clips in Arrangement View.
  • Comp by using Take Lanes with multiple video clips.
  • Videosync follows Live's "transport cursor" when playback is paused. This allows for clicking on a beat / bar and seeing the video frame at that beat.
  • The Video Delay parameter in the Properties device now also applies to video tracks in the Arrangement View.

Warping

With Live 11 it is no longer required to press the Save button in the Clip Properties after editing warp markers.

Plugin updates

  • All plugins have received upgraded user interfaces.
  • Modulation is now possible with most plugin parameters.
  • Wavvy now has an improved noise algorithm.

Simpler

Simpler has received new features with its new user interface:

  • Simpler now has a display to show the Start frame of the loaded video.
  • When changing the Start or End frame, Simpler will display the corresponding frame.
  • The End Frame is now defaulted to 100, minimizing the use of RAM memory. Hovering over the End Frame parameter reveals the maximum available frames.
  • At the bottom of Simplers's display, a loading bar appears when a video is being loaded into RAM memory. The loading bar disappears when loading has been completed.

Routing

  • Support for 'Audio From' routings: audio tracks can now receive video content from other tracks by choosing said track in the 'Audio From' routings. Pre FX, Post FX and Post Mixer subroutings are supported as well.
  • Support for 'Audio To' routings: tracks with the 'Audio To' set to Sends Only will only send video content to Return tracks.
  • When the 'Audio To' has been set to an external audio output, video content will automatically be rendered to the master track instead.
  • The Properties device can be used to unlink the audio/video routing with the Follow Routings parameter.

Videosync Intro

There now is a new Videosync license option: Videosync Intro. With Intro users can play back videos in Live's Arrangement View (Live 11 only) and Session View, as well as use Live's interface to:

  • Control opacity using faders.
  • Transition between videos using the crossfader.
  • Group video tracks.
  • Mute and solo video tracks.

See this section on our website to see the different features for both editions.

Other improvements

  • Videosync now uses the Showsync Control Surface. This means that it uses the same Control Surface as Beam.
  • Messages in the Console now show the message's timestamp.
  • External In now updates its list of connected devices while Videosync is running.
  • Replacing a device with another device correctly resets / reinitializes the new device.
  • Videosync now comes with a universal binary installer, meaning that the application runs natively on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
  • Videosync now comes with a demo project that can be opened at the end of the installation process, and can be found in the User Library.

Breaking Changes

  • Videosync v1.0 now requires macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or newer.
  • Videosync v0.9 plugins are no longer compatible. Check out this blog post for more information.
  • Removed ShaderLoader and Nova.
  • Fluid is not supported yet. We aim to add support for Fluid in a future release.
