2.1.0
New features and improvements
Video Recorder
The Video Recorder device lets you capture video with audio from any track or chain.
Key Features:
- Record video from inside any track or chain, or place it on the Main Track to record the entire session.
- When Videosync is running, Input is set automatically to Chain so the device receives video output of any devices preceding it in the chain. Alternatively, you can select any Spout or Syphon source as input, even without Videosync running.
- Record audio simultaneously with video. By default, the device records the output of any audio devices preceding it in the chain, but you can also select any other track or external input as audio source.
Video Monitor
The Video Monitor device allows you to view and monitor video signals inside any track or chain.
Color Swap
Color Swap lets you replace colors with other colors or live video sources. Transform any color into video sources, create smooth color remapping across entire images, or perform precise selective color replacement. Suitable for traditional green screen work, subtle color correction, or wild artistic transformations.
Key Features:
- 4 Independent Channels - Process up to 4 colors simultaneously, each with independent brightness/color mixing and gain.
- Dual Mapping Modes:
- Absolute: Traditional keying - replace specific colors within set thresholds.
- Relative: Every pixel gets distributed between your chosen colors, creating smooth and continuous color-space remapping across the entire image.
- Video Sidechain Integration - Replace colors with video feeds from other tracks.
- Advanced Color Matching - Choose between Chroma, Oklab, and YUV color spaces.
- Per-channel edge control: Independent blur, contour, and softness controls to shape color mapping boundaries and transitions.
Gradient
Gradient now has three modes: Linear, Conical and Radial. The Linear gradient has a new Curve parameter. Each gradient pattern can now be repeated using the Repeat parameter. This greatly improves the creative possibilities with the Gradient device.
Other improvements
- Color Mixer: Improved color mixing.
- Color Mixer: Added an Alpha Thru toggle.
- Color Mixer: Increased the height of the Color Offset bar.
- Colorize: Increased the height of the horizontal Mid Point bars.
- Colorize: The Color Format toggle was moved to the sidebar.
- Color Utility: Alpha processing (consolidation and multiplication) now occurs before brightness/contrast adjustments, allowing these color operations to work on already-processed alpha, effectively expanding the range of processing possibilities.
- External In: Devices are now displayed in the dropdown menu with unique ID’s, so that when multiple devices of the same type are detected, they can be selected.
- Keyer: Added a new keying method: YUV.
- Mirror and Pixelate: Increase the width of the device to accommodate the title and all title bar buttons of Live 12.2.
- Properties: Added a "Rotate" parameter and button to rotate video clips on Audio Tracks in steps of 90 degrees.
- Video Simpler: Added a "Rotate" parameter and button to rotate a loaded video or image in steps of 90 degrees.
- Various toggles with custom user interfaces (for example: all "Invert" toggles, or the "Mute" toggles in Properties) now show their automation indicators correctly.
- Various toggles with custom user interfaces (for example: the "Level of Detail" toggle in Wavvy) now have visible focus borders while selected.
- When hovering over dropdown menus that are populated dynamically, a hint/tooltip will now appear to reveal the full text of the selected item.
- Text across all of Videosync's application windows now uses the Ableton Sans font.
- Text fields and the Resolution dropdown menu in the Settings window now have a squared design.
- The names of all Spout/Syphon channels created by Videosync now start with "Videosync:".
- Plugin SDK: Increased the width of some Examples to accommodate the device titles next to all title bar buttons.
- Plugin SDK: Added a new
setHint.maxpatdependency responsible for dynamically adding hints to sidechain menus, revealing the full text of a selected item when hovering over the respective menu.

- Fixed a bug for External In on Windows, where a selected Spout input texture would not appear at all while Videosync’s own Main Spout output was enabled.
- Fixed a bug in External In which would cause menu items to multiply unintentionally.
- Fixed a bug in Gradient, where Feather was incorrectly represented in the GUI display, as half the size that it was in Videosync’s output.
- Fixed a bug that could cause Gradient's GUI to deteriorate Live's responsiveness under some circumstances.
- Fixed a bug for Status, where the "Device initialized" log message would not always have a correct timestamp.
- Fixed an issue where loading a corrupt image into Video Simpler would cause a crash.
- Fixed an issue for Video Simpler where setting “Playback” to “Thru” while having the Start Time set to values higher than 0ms would not trigger the correct region.
- Fixed an issue for Video Simpler on Windows, where for users who had installed the VIDDLL package but had not yet selected it as Max's video engine, Video Simpler's display would still display "Unable to show preview". Instead, it now keeps prompting to configure VIDDLL.
